GCAS


The Greater Cincinnati Aquarium Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to promote the interests of the aquarium hobby. It includes a diverse number of members and meetings usually have a diverse number of fish being represented.[1]

It publishes a by monthly newsletter Fincinnati. Featuring articles on aquarium related topics such as tank maintenance and new species of fish that have been bred.

This club is a member of the Federation of American Aquarium Societies (FAAS).[2]

The club was featured in the news when it featured the ACA (American Cichlid Association) convention for 2009.[3]

The organization is also noatble for the number of endangered species, and even species now extinct in the wild have been bred for its BAP (Breeder Award Program)

Skiffia multipuncnata (endangered)

Ameca splendens (extinct in wild) [4]

Betta krataios (endangered)
